Tooth Desensitizer for Sensitivity after Whitening and Bleaching – AcquaSeal™

A bright, white smile can drastically improve a person’s appearance while helping him or her look years younger. The most effective way to achieve a glowing smile is through in-office professional whitening procedures, which can leave patients with tooth sensitivity after bleaching and whitening treatments. AcquaSeal™ tooth desensitizer takes the discomfort out of tooth whitening so all patients can enjoy a brighter smile without the pain.

AcquaSeal™ comes either in a bottle or in single-dose desensitizing swabs for easy application. While the bottled formula is recommended for restorative treatments such as wet, resin based tooth bonding, the desensitizing swabs are effective for dentin sensitivity during hygiene procedures and for tooth sensitivity after whitening and bleaching.

AcquaSeal™ Tooth Desensitizer for Tooth Whitening

The most effective way to achieve a brighter smile, in-office tooth bleaching opens microfractures in the enamel of the tooth, causing patients post-operative pain and sensitivity. This tooth sensitivity after bleaching and whitening often manifests itself in response to cold fluids. AcquaSeal™ tooth desensitizer can be used to seal these exposed tubules so that patients don’t feel discomfort during or after tooth whitening treatments. Fluoride varnishes, commonly used to treat sensitivity, are to be discouraged as they can lead to extrinsic staining, counteract the effect of the bleaching process, and have questionable efficacy in treating acute and procedural sensitivity.

Step-by-Step AcquaSeal™ use for Tooth Sensitivity after Whitening and Bleaching

If you are a dental professional who is interested in relieving tooth sensitivity for patients after whitening and bleaching, AcquaSeal™ is an affordable, effective choice. AcquaSeal™ therapy can be initiated after bleaching has been completed to prevent patient discomfort.

  1. Apply AcquaSeal™ chair-side to the effected area, making sure area has been pumiced or recently bleached. Acid etching can be used, but is not recommended due to patient discomfort.
  2. Burnish and apply two to three coats of AcquaSeal™.
  3. Test sensitivity with air syringe. Relief should be immediate.
